A quick stop on Balboa Island
The following morning, April 20, 2018, we visited Balboa Island before leaving for Los Angeles. My dad lived on the island for a few months when he was younger and was able to show me where he stayed. It doesn’t take long to walk the whole island, so we grabbed a frozen banana at Sugar ‘n Spice and did just that.
Travel Tip: There’s always money in the banana stand.

On to the City of Angels
Wanting to spend more time in Los Angeles, we left our hotel in Anaheim and booked a night stay at the Hotel Indigo in downtown Los Angeles. This gave us plenty of time to visit all of the tourist traps. We visited Hollywood Boulevard, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, In-N-Out Burger, and Santa Monica Boulevard.

Travel Tip: Skip Hollywood Boulevard and spend time on a beach. It’s comparable to Times Square with much less to see.
Hotel Accommodations
We stayed in the downtown area so we could be less than a 10 minute drive to Dodger Stadium. Dodger Stadium had a giant rideshare lot that made pick up and drop off really simple. We booked the Hotel Indigo on Hotwire as there was plenty options in downtown.
The Game
The Los Angeles Dodgers played the Washington National at 7:10 PM that day. It was a beautiful night in Elysian Park for a baseball game in the oldest ballpark in the MLB west of the Mississippi River. We were excited to experience a game along side 50,000+ Dodger’s fans at the largest baseball stadium in the world with a seating capacity of 56,000.

The Nationals ended up beating the Dodgers in an uneven matchup of Scherzer and Kershaw. See the game results below:
